On saturday February 26 HYOID will present their recent collaboration with choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle and composer Maija Hynninen at Concertgebouw Brugge. Journal d’un Usager de l’Espace is a beautiful performance for which Vandewalle, HYOID and Hynninen found common ground in Georges Perec’s book Espèces d’espaces. In that book French author Perec takes us on a poetic, almost spiritual voyage of discovery through our everyday surroundings, spaces we usually take for granted. Le Journal d’un usager takes a similar approach. By working with sound, space and movement, this project invites audiences to experience sound spatially and thus to think about sound and space differently.
