Coming up in september, HYOID voices will premiere its latest project ‘Journal d’un usage de l’Espace’, in collaboration with choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle and composer Maja Hynninen at Kaaitheater in Brussels. A wonderful project, not to be missed!
In Espe?ces d’espaces, Georges Perec talks about the most trivial, commonplace, and therefore often overlooked, elements in the space around us; and at the same time proposes more poetic and philosophical interpretations of that space: the piece of paper and its dimensions, my bed, the bed, the bedroom, the apartment, the building, the street, the city, the country.
Around the words of Perec and the transdisciplinary practice of HYOID voices, Vandewalle’s low-tech, choreographic approach to sound and composer Hynninens spatial approach come together. An immersive exploration of the everyday beauty of space, sound, architecture, and movement.
